"English Interview Experience": Fostering Confident Communicators Beyond the Classroom
To seamlessly integrate English language learning into authentic, real-world contexts, the English Department organized the ‘Airport English Interview Experience’ for our Primary 4 students on 20th March, 2026. Stepping out of their comfort zone, our young learners transformed into ‘little reporters’ at the Hong Kong International Airport, taking the initiative to interview travellers from around the globe. The communicative tasks were designed to be both highly engaging and practical. Students conversed confidently with visitors regarding: Authentic Hong Kong Cuisine: Discovering tourists' favourite local dishes; Popular Tourist Attractions: Discussing must-visit spots around the city; Local Culture: Exchanging impressions of Hong Kong's unique heritage.
Throughout the interviews, the students demonstrated remarkable courage and articulateness. This invaluable experiential learning opportunity has significantly boosted our students' confidence in speaking English. It further solidified their practical communicative competence in authentic, real-life interactions. Witnessing their proactive participation in meaningful cross-cultural exchanges was truly inspiring and highly rewarding!
